Steel Panther
w. James Durbin Thursday, May 17, 2012 8:30pm Doors $25 ALL AGES
Panthers are territorial animals, fiercely patrolling their stalking lands. The Sunset Strip, circa 1988, was ruled by one: a legendary band called STEEL PANTHER. The Strip was the plangent heart of the nascent heavy metal scene, one that would soon conquer the music world, and rockers came from as far as New Jersey and the San Fernando Valley to see this band with a killer sound and habits to match.
Now, these once and future kings of heavy metal have emerged out of the mists of history and a cloud of hairspray to reclaim their rightful throne. Look out, because STEEL PANTHER is again marking its territory.

Todd Snider
w/ Rayland Baxter, Dana Cooper Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012 7:00 pm Doors $20 ADVANCE/ $25 DAY OF plus tax All Ages
Todd Snider is on the happy back end of happy hour at a favorite East Nashville bar, talking about his new album Agnostic Hymns & Stoner Fables. “This record doesn’t come from good times,” Snider says. “I wanted to sound the way I feel, which sometimes means sounding like a broken soul.”
On the 10 new songs, Snider doesn’t talk around the vulnerable part, or the angry part, or the part about how everything we’re taught about goodness and righteousness and capitalism, about God and family values winds up exploding into violence and chaos, wonder and longing. He might carry the mantle of “storyteller” – it’s what he titled his live record, after all – but Agnostic Hymns & Stoner Fables is anything but a nice, folk/Americana troubadour album.
Corey Smith
w/ Adam Ezra Group Friday, May 25, 2012 8:00 pm Doors $18 All Ages
Corey Smith was named one of country music's hottest new artists by Country Weekly and Music Row Magazine and was featured on the cover of Pollstar as a Hotstar Top Artist. He has hundreds of sold-out performances under his belt and a growing, dedicated fan-base whose passion for Corey’s music has led to some of the music industry’s leading professionals shaking their heads in astonishment at his rise as a touring sensation. Corey has the ability to relate to crowds like few other modern-day live acts - in one moment singing frankly of wild days spent partying, followed by showcasing his wisdom with songs that touch on much deeper issues of life. In 2011 Corey released his album The Broken Record which features refreshing remakes of longtime fan favorites "Twenty-One," "Maybe Next Year," and "If I Could Do It Again" along with new tunes like "I Love Everyone," "Broken Record," and "Silly."
In a hugely divided scene full of cliché’s and clicks, out emerges Sky Came Burning. A breath of fresh air when it comes to staying true to your roots, Sky Came Burning prides themselves on not wanting to live every other band's dreams. Keeping their label short and sweet... Metal. With two vocalists, Sky Came Burning’s front men Chris and David hit you twice. Their lyrics are all about coming from nothing, wanting more, and rising above. While they write positive lyrics about accepting what you have and telling people what they’re about, they are still brutal as they tell you “Don’t try to change us.”
City and Colour
w/ David Bazan (of Pedro The Lion), Dan Romano Wednesday, May 30, 2012 7pm Doors $25 ALL AGES
The voice is unmistakable – immediately identifiable by those that know it and intensely intriguing to those that don’t. It belongs to Dallas Green, perhaps better known as the man who writes, records, and performs under the moniker of City and Colour.
Already renowned across Canada thanks to the success of his previous two full length albums – 2005’s Sometimes and 2008’s Bring Me Your Love – and a live CD/DVD combo released between the two, Green is set to propel his profile to a new plateau with the June 2011 release of his third album, Little Hell. The effort shares its title with one of its tracks – a song that explores the little heavens and little hells that comprise a relationship and, as Green explains, “the things you do to get through them both.” It’s a theme explored throughout the album – the balance of both the blissful and harrowing experiences that come with relationships and life as a whole.
Says Green: “You have to go through those little hells to get to the really great parts of love and life.”

Via and Illustrated Highlife
w/ Aries, The Drummer Quits, Dead Center Friday, June 8th, 2012 7:00 Doors $12 ALL AGES
VIA was formed in Jan. 2012 consisting of four members. Christian Alexander/Guitar-Lead Vocals, Anthony Mlynarczyk Guitar-Back up Vocals are formerly from Savior. Zane Maxwell/Bass, Patrick Liberatore/Drums-Vocals are currently from Saving October.
These two projects merged to form an alternative rock style that pleases a wide range of fans both young and old. The bands name "VIA" was derived from a series of messages via texting between Alexander and Liberatore that later was seen to be the vital link identifying the creation of "VIA". While songs were being written a logical approach was used to add the missing links to this 4 peice project. Alexander knowing Mlynarczyk's metal style felt this addition would give an edgy sound yet at the same time would create an alternative feel when blended with Alexander's Pop Rock feel.
Liberatore's drumming style gives the band an equal measure of metal but maintains that rocky consistant rhythm. Liberatore knowing Maxwell's artistic talent and wide range of bassy riffs completes this line up to surely wow a crowd of all ages.
Carbon Leaf w. Very special guests Civil Twilight Saturday, June 9 Doors 7:00 p.m. $22 ALL AGES
Carbon Leaf's brand of rootsy, Celtic-influenced rock originated in the same Richmond, VA, scene that nurtured Dave Matthews Band, Agents of Good Roots, and Pat McGee Band. Guitarist Terry Clark, vocalist Barry Privett, bassist Jordan Medas, guitarist Carter Gravatt, and drummer Scott Milstead built up a considerable following and were soon releasing albums through their own label.
Civil Twilight brings a perfect blend of atmospheric sound and hazy storytelling that transports you to another place. Although the band hail from South Africa, their sound is incredibly epic and their powerful song “Letters From The Sky” has provided the soundtrack to your every waking moment since its release. They are scheduled to play a full 70 minute set on this show.
Two Door Cinema Club
w/ Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Bad Veins Tuesday, June 12th $25 plus tax Doors 7:00 pm All Ages
In this day and age, a record that defies you to spot what music its makers have been listening to is a rare beast – especially one that makes you dance and sing as well.
The fact they’re still so young – and, by definition, inexperienced - makes it even more extraordinary. Northern Ireland’s Two Door Cinema Club are a music-mad trio and their debut album – so fresh off the presses that they haven’t decided on an album title yet - fizzes with invention and sparkling tunes. It’s undeniably pop, and it draws on electronica/electro, rock and Afro-beats without ever recalling hopeful dilettantes, but the sum is greater than any ‘indie electro pop’ parts. The album also re-defines short, sharp and sweet - 10 songs, 32 minutes and no wastage whatsoever – as classic debut albums should be.
Since his debut in 1992 Tab has recorded with Junior Wells, Willie Nelson, Billy Joe Shaver, James Cotton, Cyril Neville, Kim Wilson of the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Henry Gray, and Jimmy Hall of Wet Willie to name a few.
Now, fifteen solo recordings, three Grammy nominations, and a budding movie career later it may be his work as a wetlands activist that he will most be remembered but until then it is his rich tone, soulful voice, and seeped with tradition song-writing that makes him Louisiana's #1 Roots music export.
